Be responsible! Be prepared!
Good weather conditions in the city do not necessarily mean that conditions on the peaks will be favourable. Ensure that you have appropriate clothing and equipment for all kinds of conditions.
There will not be any ‘official’ kit checks at any stage on the day. However, we do expect you to make responsible choices. Following are some of the things you may/should consider, that are typically used in trail running:
- Waterproof jacket
- Buff or beanie
- Cap/visor
- Thermal wear
- Cell phone – fully charged, with sufficient airtime (ensure that it is kept dry).
- Food, water, energy drinks, energy supplements (make sure these are tried and tested in training).
- Hydration pack
- Hip belt for water bottle
- First aid kit
- Whistle
- Space blanket
Remember:
SAFETY FIRST
Safety, your own and that of others, is a priority! Besides being physically demanding, the Three Peaks Challenge requires a great deal of concentration. Weather conditions can be extreme; dress appropriately. Be well prepared!
